Ranges Basketball Club was created by the merger of Kallista and Olinda Clubs, after the two Committes decided they needed to provide teams for children in the Dandenongs which catered for players with widely varying abilities. This was achieved in year 2001.

Currently Ranges has 39 teams playing in the Knox Basketball competition . Our youngest age group is Under 8s, the non-competitive grade, where we have three teams, while our oldest are our Under 23 young men and women.
Ranges players come from townships throughout the Dandenongs, but the majority of our children are students at the Mt Dandenong, Olinda, Sassafras, Ferny Creek, Kallista and The Patch areas.

TRAINING: Each team has a 1 hour training session once a week with the exception of Total Fire Ban days and school holidays when we go into recess.
The Club uses several venues including the Monbulk Secondary College and Upwey High School.

PRESENTATION DAYS:The Club holds a Presentation Day after each Summer and Winter season. Players who compete in finals, and all those playing Under 8s, receive trophies. Awards are also made to mark the 10, 15 and 20 season milestones.

If you would like to start playing basketball or perhaps just train to see if you wish to play on a regular basis simply follow the link below & contact one of our Committee.

Hi all,

First up, well done to all our teams for last season..we had 24 of our 47 teams make the semi finals, 9 playing over the grand final weekend seeing us finish the season with 5 premiership and 4 runner up.

By now you should all have heard from your relevant coaches re teams for Summer. Round 1 is this Saturday 10 November. The fixture for the first 3 rounds are up on the Knox website, however it pays to check each week as there is often changes.

The first 6 rounds are grading. With some early regrades possible after rd 3.

Uniforms, last minute uniform distribution will continue through to Friday. Please check your drawers, have you a loan or a spare that the club can use. The silky style uniform belongs to the club..any on hand were not available to our current members as they have been out of stock for 10 years (20 seasons) we don't have any players of that era still in them..so please return them.

I have stock of new uniforms on hand and will be following up with any long term loan uniforms out there..so be prepared if this applies to you.

A HUGE THANK YOU to our team coordinators. It is not an easy job formulating teams, considering all requests, getting team officials etc. It shouldn't be such a thankless task..and with only 3 sleeps till round 1 we still have players dropping out and coming in, so thank you for your patience once again...roll on rd 1.

Remember always support and respect our volunteers, players, referees and opposition..the only loud vocalization should be cheering and of a positive nature.

And Enjoy the Game!
